Barrel works well even after sustained fire. 1 MOA with iron sights/Primary Arms glass. Group starts expanding after about 100 Rds (1 round per 10 sec)
However, if equipped with a knights M5 rail for a mk12 clone, this thing is F-ing heavy. If you’re trying to hunt with this thing you better be a strong person. I was smoked after a day of hog hunting on foot (8-12 miles, wearing chest rig not PC).

I have shot .223 50 grain Winchester ballistic silver tips up to .223 75 grain bthp hornady superperformance match and all shot submoa
Genestar –
Have built 3 uppers using this barrel.
Easily capable of sub MOA if you do your part.

I purchased this barrel for a rifle length AR IN 223.5.56 and i coulnd’t be happier with it. I wish they made it in 6.5 Grendel for my next build. I can get sub 1/2 moa when everything else lines up (my shooting, wind). and the construction appears to be top quality. I will certainly buy barrel from Daniel Defense again, anyone that tells you cold hammer forging is a cheap/lesser way to make barrels, refer them to the Sako TRG which are tac drivers that can hang with any competition custom rifle with button/cut barrels. case closed for me. CHF is as accurate when done right as any other method.

Ordered mine over a year ago now. Have put several hundred rounds through it. It gives less than tight groups. Average of inch and a half to two inch groups. I have tried everything from match grade Hornady ammo, to 62 grain green tip. The gas block was installed from the factory and the pin would not drift into slot. Contacted Daniel defense, never heard back from them. So in short, spend your money wisely and shop around.

First trip to the range, just to mount the optic and zero. The build Technicals follow:
Spike’s Tactical Upper, Spike’s Tactical M16 BCG, Seekins lower, Velocity 3-pound trigger, Mentium handguard, Nightforce NXS 3.5-15X56 NP-R1 optic. Barrel: Daniel Defense 5.56, Strength-to-weight, 18″, rifle length gas system.
Hand loaded 75 grain, Hornady BTHPs, over 25 grains of Varget, in LC 5.56 brass, and a SR primer.
Results: I placed the first 3 shots through a single hole at 50 yards. I had identical results with factory loaded, Frontier .223 Rem, 68 grain BTHPs. In all, over 50 shots fired, exceptional accuracy. Zero stayed zero, hot or cold made no difference in POA to POI.
Excellent barrel! Now I am off to write a review of my DD strength-to-weight .300 AAC Blackout…equally fantastic barrel. Please read that review as well.
Thank-you Daniel Defense!

I have a DDM4V11S2W with 18” barrel. Using Blackout 76gr loads was unable to get a group under 2.5 inches at 100yds. Using 55gr Hornady V Max avg group about one inch best group was 1/2 inch. Seems like a quality build but jury is still out for me.
