The M4A1 AR15 style Upper Receiver Group features the RIS II picatinny quad rail, which has been in use by US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD Block II program since 2005. The M4A1 is built around a 14.5 inch Cold Hammer Forged M4 Profile barrel with a permanently attached Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor. The independently ambi GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle accommodates left- and right-handed shooters. All Daniel Defense complete upper receiver groups come standard with an M16 profile bolt carrier group.

Picked up one from a local gun shop a couple of day ago got it for a reasonable price mounted it on an Aero precision lower I built for it and took it to the range and it’s definitely a sub MOA rifle very impressed if you are looking at one for yourself do hesitate you will not be disappointed.

Took this rifle to the range again and really stretched it out this upper is fantastic very accurate I have a lot of ARs but this one was my first Daniel Defense and it was ready to go right out of the box it is now my go to rifle and I take it everywhere with me

If you want a rugged, bomb proof, yet accurate upper that’s short and handy enough to be suited for a variety of roles, then this upper is a great pick. It’s easily sub moa with the right shooter and ammo. Very accurate with M193 and M855 too. The only real downside is the weight. It’s certainly no pig, but it’s a little heavier than most Mlok handguard equipped uppers. The SOCOM profile barrel also adds to the weight a little.
